what happens if you smash an electronic voting machine?

if im not mistaken a FELONY conviction disqualifies one from voting…no?
interesting conundrum
smash a voting machine..and (stifled cough) get caught
ONE VOTER is permanently (varies by state) in-eligible to vote
but…
allow that machine..and all like it..to REMAIN in operation
and
a GENERATION risks being disenfranchised..
by deceit
by manipulation
by design
